Renovations with Ravenscar Redevelopments

Renovating with Ravenscar Redevelopments (Bonded and licensed)
Ravenscar is a Homage to my Roots of Yorkshire, UK

Ravenscar Redevelopments was established in 2020 after many years of being in the building industry and becoming a natural part of the design business of project management.
I cannot express my gratitude to the close group of reliable, hardworking, reputable trades and suppliers that work in unison with me from start to finish to help me accomplish a job well done!

Renovations are my favourite projects

I love taking something old and seeing
what could be and then overseeing the transformation!  I love the challenge of small spaces, as well as creating additional spaces. Whether a project is big or small, I find them all fulfilling.

With excellent references from past projects, I have a system that puts you at ease so that you know you’re in experienced hands.

With my creativity and extensive knowledge of building codes, I know that working together we can successfully bring a plan to beautiful fruition and accomplish your dreams.

New-home consulting

Are you considering building a house from scratch? If so, getting a second opinion would be a wise idea. That is one of my specialties.

Working for a home builder in the past was quite an eye opener for me and taught me a lot about building a new home, builders and their clients.

For example, looking at floor plans is not always as easy as it appears. Spacial concepts may look great on paper, but if you are not visual it can result in a very unhappy circumstance. Floor plans look simple, but you can be sadly surprised when what you think you’re getting is not what you end up with.

First rule of thumb: Review the home builder and the quality of work. This is key to a good home. Asking the right questions and a little prodding does not hurt!

I’m very experienced in this market, so before you sign off on anything, consider having a consultation with me. I work for you, not the builder.

Aspects of a new home build include lifestyle, electrical, plumbing, windows, room sizes, ceiling heights and so much more. I will ask questions that you may never think of and can feed you questions with which you can negotiate with your builder before you buy. There’s nothing worse than signing away on one of the largest purchases in your life—your dream home—and not getting everything you dreamed of.

Whether it’s exterior and interior colour selections, flooring, walls, built-ins and cabinets, remember: your new home should be tailored to you and your family and has to stand the test of time.

I also know that the products and materials used are an important consideration, especially if you have allergies, pets or environmental sensitivities.

Staging

Selling Your Old Home
When selling your home, staging is icing on the cake.

You're about to put your house on the market and you look around
--draperies, blinds, paint colours, furniture...you have everything, but it doesn’t feel quite ‘put together’ and you don't want to buy anything new.

This can be a good time to incorporate a range of my services—small renovations such as painting to freshen up the look of your home, de-cluttering and staging.

I can develop a plan for all that. I can assess your needs, help you optimize your space so it will look its best in your realtor's photos and appeal to potential buyers when they visit.

Buying a New Home
So, you've sold your old home and now you’re about to buy a new one. Before you put in an offer to purchase that home, I can advise you on what renovations might be required and what the related costs will be.

Or you've already bought a new home and you're about to move into it and you need to freshen it up beforehand, and you say to yourself: "Am I picking the right colours? How best to organize my furniture? Will it fit? How much will it cost? Where do I start? How can I be sure I'm making the right choices? It all looks so easy in the magazines!"

All of this can be ever so daunting, and the complexity of the process can really catch you off guard. I can develop a plan for all that. I can assess your needs. I can advise on any new flooring, paint colours and fixtures that might be required and organize trades to get the work done before you move in.

And before you move in, I can draw up precise floor plans so that you know exactly where to have the movers place your furniture.

After you move in, I can hang your paintings and drapes, and I can shop for you—or better still with you
--on a well-planned excursion to fill any gaps.

Downsizing

Change is part of life, and as we mature in age, often as not we collect many items that won’t be needed later on in our journey.

If you or a loved one has made the decision to downsize, I can offer a supportive role in your next steps.

I offer a gentle approach to making that move, which can be emotional and stressful.

Through a room-by-room consultation, I’ll assist you in separating out items to keep, recycle, give away or dispose.

I’ll pack boxes and identify their contents, and I’ll provide you with a floor plan on the placement of your furniture for your new space.

I’ll arrange and oversee packing, moving and unpacking, as well as cleaning of both the new and old locations.

Should any remodeling or small repairs be required on the new or old home, I can arrange to have my trades do the work.

I can also handle staging and hang pictures to make your new space feel like it’s your home.

Chi living through Feng Shui and
Vastu Shastra

The ancient art of Feng Shui and Vastu Shastra have been practiced for thousands of years.

Feng Shui (pronounced “Feng Shway” in Chinese) is the practice of analyzing and influencing the interaction between people, buildings and the environment, in order to enhance the quality of life. Originating in Ancient China, its basis is “chi”, which is a vital energy present in everything.

Vastu Shastra is the Eastern Indian version of Feng Shui with a few differences. Vastu Shastra is usually started prior to the home being built, whereas Feng Shui is applied to a home that is already complete.

Please don't hesitate to contact me about this amazing energy boost for your home—one that connects mind, body and spirit to your space.

De-cluttering

Clutter is a battle that many people face--one that takes over their home.

Why? Because of the overwhelming desire to buy, buy, buy…for instant gratification and to avoid addressing other challenges we may face in life.

Over the years, I’ve witnessed first hand homeowners accumulating more and more 'stuff' and then hear their frustration about how their home is no longer suitable or even livable.

And it breaks my heart to see peoples' relationships breaking down because they're 'drowning' in a 'sea' of stuff.

Through the process of releasing things that you no longer need or want, I can help you find peace of mind and even address health and emotional issues that you may be experiencing.

I’m here to help break down those thought patterns and get you on the road to recovery!

Accessible living: mobility, wheelchair friendly homes and ageing in place

If you or a loved one are at that time in life where you have decided to live your retirement in your home but are not as mobile as you used to be—or, due to an unexpected health issue, a wheelchair is now required—chances are your home may no longer accommodate your needs and living in your home has become a challenge.

I can help you make the needed changes to ensure that your home is an accessible home and is fitted for better mobility and meets the correct codes. Having these in place will give you a sense of independence.

Please call me for a free consultation and a quote tailored to your needs.

Should you find that the home you're living in is not suitable for a conversion to accessible living, I can also help you find a home that can be customized to your needs.
